ANGELA CARTER
Board Chairwoman - Elect
Angela F. Carter is the youngest child of the late Dr. L.C. Carter. As a lead strategist, she is dedicated to identifying and creating opportunities to access STEAM programs to support the exposure of underprivileged youth in the Aviation and Aerospace industries. Ms. Carter stands as President & CEO of AFC Power Strategy Group, Inc. Ms. Carter is completing a Doctor of Business Administration and holds an MBA in Finance and BBA in Management. She supports, serves, and volunteers at local charities. She also serves as Chief Strategist on the board of Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals (OBAP). Her resilient drive for education has brought her back to the classroom as an Adult Education & Literacy Instructor at Houston Community College. Ms. Carter vows to continue using her gifts to eliminate barriers and provide illumination and resources to those desiring education at every level in pursuit of their dream and creating legacy.
OLIVIA CARTER
Founder
Lady Olivia F. Carter is the widow and founder of the Dr. L.C. Carter Foundation. With over 40 years of experience, Lady Olivia brings extensive knowledge and experience in Government Contract Administration and Management. Previously she was the Systems Administrative Contracting Officer for the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and currently serves as Chief Contracting Officer of AFC Power Strategy Group, Inc. She holds a BBA from the University of Southern California. She is an active National Contract Management Agency and Space Center Small Business Council member. Lady Olivia is passionate about preserving her late husband’s legacy of service through advancing educational opportunities, promoting arts and culture, and empowering the community at large.
ROBERT SESSION II
Founding Board Member
Robert L. Session, II brings a diverse background of technology, science, and law to the Dr. L. C. Carter Foundation. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Radiological Health Engineering and a Juris Doctor. Mr. Session is a license attorney and Managing Partner of The Session Law Group, specializing in patent and trademark prosecution as well as business startups and development. Mr. Session serves as General Counsel to several businesses and nonprofit organizations, including the Talafery Media Group and One Source International, LLC. He was named Chair for the Electronic and Computer Law Committee for the Intellectual Property Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. He continues to serve the community through local charities and professional associations. As the son of a minister and school administrator, Mr. Session looks to follow his father’s legacy, similar to Dr. Carter, through his shared passion for creating opportunities for youth and young adults in innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology.
RENITA BURKS-GREEN
Board Administrator
ReNita Burks-Green brings 10 years of professional experience in the banking and legal industries to the Dr. L. C. Carter Foundation. She serves as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, and Case Manager at Sherman Law Firm. She holds a BBA from University of Houston Downtown and is in pursuit of choosing a law school to continue her journey to becoming a lawyer. ReNita is bilingual in Spanish and is passionate about opportunities in education and entrepreneurship for minority youth and young adults. She serves as the administrator to the board of directors and pledges to help the foundation continue to identify communities with the greatest needs and how best to diversify life-long learning for underserved communities.
